Compact Digital Camera

There's a few camera buffs on here so I thought I'd chance my arm and ask for a little advice.

I'm after a nice pocket sized model, decent mega pixel and zoom but nothing out of the ordinary for around £100 or under.  Basically something I can carry about that’ll not weight down the pockets and if it gets half-inched or battered about when I’m out it’ll not be a major loss.

Bit of video would be great, night shots for the dogging a plus and is it the shutter speed that needs to be shit hot so there’s not a delay between the click and pic?

I’ve been scanning the old ebay and there’s so much on there I don’t know where to start.  I’ve had a scan through some of the review sites but they all appear to rate everything and anything.

Plus what’s the gen on these Asian blokes selling what looks like amazing 12mega pixel high spec unbranded models for £30 - £50, best avoided?

Got mine from Amazon. A bit more expensive than 100 quid but they have plenty of choice and I've been very happy with it.

I got a Sony Cybershot DSC P200, a brilliant little camera, 7.2 Megapixels. It was £300 reduced to £230 but that was probably two years ago now, so it's successor will be much cheaper.

That one looks quite good, 7.1MP, 3x optical zoom, fast shutter speed, can record video's, and it's small and light for £109

That's the winner thirty quid boxed from the States.
