Wondering I was, Is bangkok red still about? I ask for the simple reason that I am going to bangkok tomorrow night and want to know where to go? Im in singapore in a well nice hotel. My room got upgraded because the receptionist asked if I was related to Robbie Fowler. He was a great laugh. Singapore people are nice. I want to be one. ho hum.

Think he shifted to Pattaya - sex capital of the world.
Look him up on the members list Onion and send him a PM - he'll get an email to check his InBox.
Can't go to wrong with the main strip for the first couple of nights.

my advice would be to check into a nice 5* hotel for the first couple of nights, they're so cheap it'd be silly not to.
i wouldn't bother will all the temples either, didn't find them that great myself and we must have looked round about five of them.
get the train north to changmai or daan saarf to samui/phangnan asap, bangkok stinks!

Bangkok's alright, just takes a bit of getting used to is all. Koh San Road is where most people stay, as your guide book has probably already told you. It's a pity you didn't go a month ago as you would have been there for Thai New Year, which is basically millions of people having a water fight.
Chang Mai is a nicer city to be fair, Koh Phangnan and Koh Tao(if you want to dive) are worth a look, and if you want somewhere that's not quite so western orientated try Koh Samet or Koh Chang towards Cambodia. Phuket and Pattaya are probably best avoided like the plague in my opinion.

jimbo! get to koh samed and goto pudsa bungalows, then you can dance the night away at shit night silversands. get a cab from bangkok and a speedboat to island will only cost you about £30 for both.

Koh Phangan is fantastic get on those nasty 'diet pills' from the clinics and neck a few buckets.
I'd head a bit out of the centre for a bungalow mind or you won't be sleeping much.

I prefer a nice bit of Yabba to keep me up.
To many people mulling around for my liking down in Had Rin and those bungalows are as secure and soundproof as paper.
One of the lads I met out there employed the services of two bloody great menacing stray dogs who he fed and they lived on his bungalow veranda and kept everyone well away.
