I'd just like to make the point that drum and bass is prime chav music.

This is a myth you barely get any chavvy types at drum and bass events, they tend to be far more into cheesy dance/pop garage/blazing squad/american r&b (J-lo, Ja Rule etc.).

that might be true in some cases, but not in general IMO.

d&b events are pure chav fests. i've been to bounce in norwich which is one of the top 3 d&b nights in the country, and also seen ecksman at the old fire station in oxford. both were rammed with chavs, but it was a surprisingly good atmosphere (that can be put down to what everyone was taking, but still it was nice).

No chavs go here in cardiff, possibly because it tends to be over 90% students though I suppose it depends what you define as chavs, the people at drum and bass are far too safe. I think of chavs as the losers hanging around at bus stops looking bored.

The atmosphere is around the best around even the support acts always get great reception when at a lot of other gigs they tend to get a pretty muted response. Drum and bass is the only music I can dance to for 4 hours pretty much non-stop and still want more when they chuck us out and I don't take pills. :\/
