Sunny in Rochdale, about 6/7 degrees. Surely that's playable? Apparently it was borderline and upto both managers and Sturrock said no.

The referee offered it to the gaffers? That never happens, absolute bollocks.

Referee R L Lewis has called today's game off due to a frozen pitch.  Although large parts of the pitch were playable the referee has deemed  others area unfit for play and was therefore left with no alternative but to call the game off.

Methinks the 25% football was over-ruled by the 80% bollocks for that rumour!

IIRC it's a decision made between the officials and managers. If Sturrock insisted enough that he felt the pitch was unplayable then the referee would probably take it into consideration.

Not sure of the exact law though.

You all knew there was a pitch inspection, it's not Sturrock's fault people chose to travel to a game that was obviously in doubt.

Rochdale are in good form - they have good loan signings at the moment like the Le Fondre kid from Stockport scoring goals.

It was probably a wise option by Sturrock... Christ, if you look at polls from days ago it was going to be called off!

Take note of the forum polls and you'll be okay  Wink

I think a postponement was definitely a good result. They have been flying lately and we were coming off the back of a home defeat. It would have been a very tough game. Hopefully when we play them again they will have reverted to being crap and we will be on 5 game unbeaten run or something Cool

I think a four page Matchday Thread is pretty impressive seeing as there was no game!
