Actually, everyone did.  That was the best performance of the season by far.  The midfield worked their socks off, harrying and closing down.  There were more shots than I can remember and Lucas led the line well, but was well and truly knackered at the end.

Towards the end, we made the league leaders look positively pedestrian.

Good to see and if it can be sustained, bodes well for the future.

Bloody cold though.

Smith - 7 - wasnt really troubled

Smith - 7 - Dont remember him having to defend much
Ifil - 8 - No one was getting past the Beast today
Williams - 7 - Solid as always
Vincent - 7 - Very solid at the back and even went forward (once!)

Roberts - 8 - Very good out on the wing, high energy levels. Lots of running. Took the piss out of their left back. Some good crosses
Weston - 7 - Very good performance, got time on the ball and used it well
Timlin - 7 - Mainly sat back and did the donkey work, good distribution
Zaboub - 8 - This kid is quality. Went past players, got stuck in. Passed the ball well and even some quality showboating towards the end.
Brown - 7 - Much much better, one of his best games in a town shirt

Jutkiewicz - 8 - Held the line well, let the defender know he was about. Very well taken goal

No MOTM for me, its too difficult to single someone out

Phil Smith - 7 - Didn't have a lot to do, made on cracking save to his left in the first half

Jack Smith - 7 - Looked steady as always, got forward well and linked up with Roberts.

Ifil - 7 - Fairly quiet game, didn't get troubled much.

Williams - 7- Same as Ifil, made a few good clearing headers.

Vincent - 6 - Surprisingly solid, few wayward clearances but at least they made it out of the ground  Cheesy

Roberts - 7 - Stayed wide, skinned their left-back a few times. Confident penalty.

Weston - 7 - Showed some good touches, actually got his foot on the ball rather than it going over his head for 90 mins.

Timlin - 8- Fantastic. Great passing, calm head and great tackles. Probably covered more ground than anybody else.

Zabooub - 9 - Man of the match. Absolutely immense, seemed to be playing closest to Lukas. Very skilfull and some nice passes.

Brown - 7 - Showed more dedication than normal. Couple of good crosses.

Jutkiewicz - 8 - Played well as a lone front man. Held the ball up well when he could. Roper didn't know what to do with him. Took his goal well, nice touch to get past the defender and then a cool finish. Won the penalty.

All in all a great hardworking performance. Midfield ran their bollocks off and played a great passing game.

IMO we looked comfortable once we went one-nil up and there was none of the normal worry in the last ten minutes.

Same as DV.  No one really deserved more than an 8, and I'd be loathed to give anyone a 6.  Weston should have passed maybe three times when he chose not to, and if he'd have knocked the ball to the penalty spot rather than shot in the first half Lucas probably would have had two.  Zaboub probably the best if I had to pick one.  Any player who can have the ball knocked into his feet with three players around him and turn it into an attack deserves :bow1:

Bugger it, give them all a 10 today!

On paper that was the toughest game of the season and we pissed it. Men against boys.
We took time to settle into the new formation but once we did there was only one winner for me. All the units worked well, especially in midfield where I lost count of the times Timlin & Weston broke up the play to good effect. Roberts looked interested for once and gave their left back a torrid time in the second half. Brown worked hard and deserved the applause he got when subbed after a knock. Lukas took his goal well and did the right thing when challenged to win the penalty. He will go from strength to strength now. The defense looked solid and bounced back well after the off day at Mansfield. Phil Smith rarely troubled and looked well pleased when we scored the first. Fair play to him, he really seems to be warming to the task  Cheesy

Full marks to Mr Sturrock too. Walsall seemed unable to cope with the 4-5-1 and the width we had when going forward. Countless crosses into the box today, ball on the deck and played into feet more often than not. Some wonderful touch's from Zaboub towards the end, proper ole stuff. Now that he's up to speed he could prove to be a real gem.

Plenty of reasons to be cheerful fellas. Things are beginning to take shape and today could be a turning point in the season. There can be no doubt that the rest of the league will have sat up at that result. Bring on the Rovers!!

Oh, and a special mention for the fans today. Thought we were brilliant today, particularly in the crucial first 20 minutes when we didnt stop singing. We were the 12th man today, its been a while since I've enjoyed an away match as much as I did today. Happy Days!  Beers

What a fucking ace day!!!! I'm so happy - that's the best I've seen Swindon play all season.

Phil Smith - 7, rarely called upon but made at least one fantastic save

Jack Smith - 7, Solid as always

Ady Williams - 8, Typical calm performance, really showed his experience

Jamie Vincent - 6, Solid at the back but didn't really get into the game

Christian Roberts - 9, lazy Roberts? don't make me laugh, he was absolutely fantastic today, skinned his man numerous times and took the penalty well

Sofi Zaboub - 8, very very skillful and knows when he can showboat. Quickly becoming my new favourite player.

Michael Timlin - 7, Please, please, please sign him up now!! TIMMY!!!!

Curtis Weston - 7, getting better and better, still a little greedy but otherwise solid.

Aaron Brown - 7, had a solid game. nothing special.

Lucas Juckie-whatever - 8, surprised me today, was absolutely brilliant. Peacock will stuggle to get his place back after a performance like that. Hopefully plenty more to come.

Overall very, very happy with what I've seen today. Bring on the Rovers!

Agreed with all that, but Roberts is a 7 because he was poor first half, and Brown is a 9, and Zaboub 10.

Splendid.

Excellent all round performance, by far the best I have seen this season. Luggy is a fucking genius for switching to 4-5-1 (4-3-3). We never gave them any time and space at all in midfiled, and counter attacked with pace and purpose.  8's all round.

Special mention to Vincent who completed a hattrick of clearances out of the gound. HOOF

That and an all day drinking binge meant i had a superb day Beers
