The news was broken yesterday by Town director Bob Holt, who also revealed the club faces a £700,000 budget overspend - a problem he described as 'manageable'.

However, the Daily Press also understands that prior to the accident Power had not been getting on with Mike Diamandis, the influential advisor of Swindon's majority shareholder, Sir Seton Wills.

Asked whether that or any other disputes had been a factor in Power's decision, Holt said he could only repeat what Power's representatives had indicated at a meeting on Wednesday - that his health was the issue.

Power and his business partner, Phil Emmel, do not wish to speak to the media at present.

I think if this shit continues we might find out.

The optimism that swept the club s in danger of being swallowed up by the ongoings at the club.

That article don't help.

Devlin is also saying that Holt is unprofessional .. surely this means his departure is imminent as well?

Devlin told the Swindon Advertiser: “I have no further comment to make on the overspend to which Bob (Holt) refers.

“I don’t think talking about it through the media is the appropriate or professional way to deal with it.

“As I said, I will give my response when I am given details and will respond to them accordingly.”

I think that article is not that bad at all actually.......

Holt actually stating that the players were the most important....and that the financial situation is not as bad as it has been (hence if we've been through worse we can get through this!)

Only thing that annoys me is Willy Carson saying outright that if Leeds want him then they can talk with him......we've only just employed the guy on a three year deal and wouldnt get a penny compensation if a high enough league club came in for him, so he is practically stating 'come and have him'.

If I have one grievance with Swindon Town it si Willie Carson.....all he does is mention us on TV every now and then, but I could do that for us so what other perpose does he serve but to complicate matters? I may be wrong but I dont remember a lot of his money going on the table? surely he can afford £700K if he cares that much.....Huh??

Carson is a figurehead, there is little evidence he is involved in the day to day running of the club other than attempting to raise profile. Perhaps a chairman should do more in most peoples eyes?

His comments were rather dissapointing if accurate.

Thanks for clearing that up. Until that post, I was unsure of where you stood on the issue...
