Swindon Town chairman Willy Carson has cleared the way for an approach from Leeds United chairman Ken Bates for boss Denis Wise.
Wise has been established as one of the early frontrunners for the manager's job at Elland Road after the axing of Kevin Blackwell on Wednesday.

He only joined the League Two club in May and has steered the Robins to second place in the early running this season.
Carson said: "Of course I would say Dennis could talk to him, that is common courtesy. No-one is going to get upset about it.

"Obviously, Dennis has a contract here but if a big club came in then we would let them talk. We do not want him to leave, that goes without saying."
Bates and Wise have a close relationship from their time together at Chelsea and the former Blues owner is godfather to one of Wise's children.
