He was too slow, and only played well from time to time.  Much prefer to have Williams on board

we need more than one central defender though and i doubt williams is much quicker than him as well!

regardless of his lack of speed, i thought that for the most part he was fairly solid although he was prone to the odd howler.

Fair cop Williams aint much quicker then fatty Heywood.  However the one crucial factor which distinguishes between Williams and heywood is the fact that williams will be vocal and incontrol of the defence.  Our recent problems in defence have been due to poor orgnisation and leadership.  Heywood imo wouldn't add anything extra to the defence unless he is partnered by a quick defender who can marshall the defence.

Heywood was bought by City to simply deal with set plays and add extra height to their small defence.  He'd be a good squad player for Swindon, but i'd pt him behind Ifil, Williams and CCP (if CCP plays in defence.)

In other words we'd be better off signing someone else!

Matt Heywood

Solid as a rock when the balls 6ft 5 in the air.

Usless as a chocolate teapot when the balls on the floor.

If you combined his areial ability and position sense with Ifils, speed and recovery youd have a top class center half
