Well she asked to move in with her boyfriend who was living here, so has essentially been living rent free (she pays for bills though). No skin off my nose as I would have had to pay the same amount of rent if she was/wasn't here.

The mushy card that she also gave me reads:

Quote

Dear Simon,
Thank you for letting me stay over the past months. I have loved getting to know you & you have been a fantastic housemate & friend. Please enjoy the Stella & choc as a token of my appreciation. If you ever need a friend (or anyone, if I'm not a friend but an enemy after you lived with me!) to talk to, I'm here (as are the other guys) - & if you ever want to pop down for a visit next year you'd be more than welcome.

Thank you so much again.

Love Lara x

And the £30 cheque? A token of her "appreciation"? :--

Hmm, I'm still trying to fathom that one. I initially thought it was to settle for bills I paid, but we talked about that before she gave me the card and sorted it out. She even paid the astronomical powergen bill as my other housemates aren't around to pay it (which I did give her the money for). It might just be it was meant for that reason though, so I'll do the decent thing and ask her before I leave tomorrow.

I'm no man whore though Village  Shocked

Perish the thought Shocked

Sounds like a proper legend though. Keep in touch with her by constantly reminding her of when your birthday is..... sounds like a generous present-giver type person. Whereas i'm more of a taker than a giver
