Probably been mentioned b4 ...

But how is it the 125th anniversary ... the club started in 1879 Huh?

that makes it 127 next season??

We've had this discussion many times before.

I guess 1879 is right.......but marketing comes in to it; we've already passed 2004.

And as we celebrated the centenary in 1981 I can why it makes sense to stick with 1881.

As long as they start to stick with this I don't really care. There is so much controversy over wen the club started so as long as they choose one I'm not bothered!

Although 79 seems the now most likely formation date, I'm with the train of thought that goes with 81 because we used that to mark the centenary.  Plus we missed 125 it we did use 1879 as the start date.

So what if it brings in a few pennies, every club uses it.  In fact, there were a number of fans demanding it be incorporated if I remember correctly.  IN 3 years we'll have a 40 year anniversary as well no doubt.
