For about a week now I cannot put any of my e-mails into my deleted items folder and get rid of them etc.

Not a big problem at the moment; but there will come a time when I probably get a message saying I cannot get any more messages as it's full.

I guess I could un-install it and install it again and that may cure the problem; but I don't want to do that unless I have to.

Message I get says " FOLDER COULD NOT BE DISPLAYED. Outlook Express could not display this folder.

Possible Causes are Low Disk Space and Low Memory"

I know the last two points are not the problem. i've tried trouble shooting it through Microsoft with no solutions.

So if anyone has any ideas (I'm guessing Si Pi might); then please put them here for me to try. Thanks.

Have you tried checking the 'empty the deleted item folder on exiting'? that might work around a bug.

Unfortunately I use Outlook so am not too familiar with Outlook Express

Can you right click over the deleted items folder and bring up the options Bedford or even see what's in the folder?

Whenever I try to open the folder it just says on the page that "Folder could not be displayed; Outlook Express could not open this folder. Possible causes are low disk space; low memory."

Right clicking only offers open ; find and properties.

I tried the thing Si Pi suggested above; and I get a message saying that the folder cannot be emptied etc.

Thing is I don't think there is anything in there anyway as I empty it most days. I'm putting all my e-mails I've finished with into my draft folder at the moment to avoid clogging my in-box up; got 44 in there now.

Whatever I try; trying to move items between folders etc nothing happens when I try to move to deleted folder.

Try closing Outlook express and run a search for the file 'deleted items.dbx' on your hard drive and delete the bugger.

Open Outlook again and give it another go.

Managed to figure that out in the end Dazzza and it worked.

Grand, sounds like it may have just been a corrupted file in the end.

Same happened to me a while back on my InBox.

I think it might have been.

I did a google on it all which was much more useful than the microsoft/windows site and it seemed to say the same on there.
