The Mrs has gone mental and has her heart set on a Civic Type R for her next car ( :ha: she drives a Citroen ZX 1.9 TD currently ) Can you give me an idea of servicing costs, tyre prices, brakes etc? Cheers

Ok matey.
Tyres are not cheap, your get through a front set in roughly 10k miles depending on driving style. Bear in mind the Type R is a very rev hungry car and it's almost impossible to drive it 'normal'. I just replaced all 4 of my tyres with Toyo Proxes T1-R's and it cost £400. There tyres are considered the best for the Type R along with Yokohama Parada Spec 2.
Fuel wise your get on average 28 MPG but this goes down considerably when driven with 'enthusiam'.
Servicing is actually not too bad. I just had my first service on my new one and it cost £130 with me supplying my own oil (Silkolene Pro S 5w-40). The 25k service is more like £250 though.
Brakes are £60-£70 for new pads and £180 for new discs i believe but i've never had mine replaced yet.
