shakes is better going through the middle. he played well there when he came on against scunthorpe. cant really judge him on yesterday's performance because all the players were pretty poor.

at least going through the middle he doesn't have to cross it. would rather have roberts playing wide right. i hope he's fit for the city game!

he can run fast, that is all.....

The same was said about Thierry Henry when he first joined Arsenal.
Wigan have made a massive impression on the top flight and their central asset has been the pace of their front men.

With the right guidance he - Shakes - could be one hell of an asset. I'd love to see him converted to a strikers role. I understand he's notched a few for the stiffs when he's been deployed up front?!

I like the guy, and my dad pointed out that when he runs he appears to be like a poor mans john barnes.  I think he has potential, just needs it coaching to hone him into a decent player.  Pace is a thing often lacking in a number of technically OK players which is very hard to improve, but Shakes has the pace and his technique needs to get better, something I think can be bettered with practice.

I thought DV was trying to be funny, ie why does Ricky Shake?

I've seen enough to see there's potential in the lad.

shakes is quality....in my opinion, his crosses are quite alright, passing isn't great, but our whole teams passing is crap! and he is fast which is very helpful. better than someone else on the wing.
