Afraid not Reg. I vaguely remember being told that Albion had scouted for him, but nothing else. I wish I had asked the questions! As he was born in 1926, therefore about 19 when the war ended, and he played for us that guest game, things must have been a bit unsettled. I did not know the Garrards information.

I'll give you a clue....in the infamous match that the father scored in......one of the players on side x went onto become an assistant manager at STFC.......one of the players on side y went on to manage a World Cup winning side.
