Fencing (not touché turtle)

So, my mums back fence was on its way out and needed replacing but currently just about being held up with some bushes etc that the council are responsible for. Can my mum insist on the council coming out to cut stuff away in order to make it easy to replace? Or shall I just crack on and do it myself? Anyone know any good ‘fencers’ that are reliable and won’t rip the old dear off?

On top of that, with the high winds, 2 panels blew down on the right side 🙄. She is in a detached house, who is responsible does anyone know?

Check the deeds for the property for boundary issues.

as Arriba said, whose fence it is ,  check deeds. there is legally no common role of always left or right....

I know because a few years ago ours blew down, was the left one as looking at it as shown on the deeds. useful when a neighbour came round a year or so later regarding the now broken right one because the previous occupant said it was ours (they were absolutely fine thankfully)

Thanks for the replies. So me mum reckons she can’t tell from the deeds so I’ll try and figure that out. I might be scuppered with Marshall’s then if they’re booked up as need it done sooner rather than later. Will try Ram for a quote cheers

Our deeds had a plan diagram with the borders and "T" marking ownership.

My boundaries are shared with my neighbours. At my last home it was one side ownership. If you can't see it on the deeds might be worth asking neighbours about it.
Whoever you get to do the job get closeboard fencing. Panels are a waste of money.
