That time of year is fast approaching where it's time to start thinking about how to get as far away as possible from the god damn mother of all anticlimaxes New Years in GB.

Last year was Prague and was fucking awesome.  Freezing my nuts off with 2 bottles of Champagne overlooking the bridge with an almighty firework display at midnight.

Even better where the two Czech birds who we initially mistook for hangers on after drink but turned out to bi-sexual.

So far we have mooted Bulgaria, The Dam and Denmark.

Not keen on the Dam as it will be mightily expensive and not sure what the vibe will be like.

Anyone got any plans or suggestions?

amsterdam is awesome mate, basically 10,000 people in the street having a massive party. they put a big stage in dam square and splash out on lights/fireworks/bands etc etc.

just dont do what we did and eat a load of dried mushrooms about an hour beforehand. i was soooo scared. but it was good nevertheless.

dam wasn't expensive and we booked about october i think. flying pig downtown hostel if you want a good, cheap place:

its got an awesome reception/bar/internet/pool table/smoking spot. very nice vibe.

That's right forgot you were there.

Think I mentioned it but we stayed in the Bulldog in the red light district, which was superb.

Research is pointing to Goa being rather good at New Years but a bit off our budget flight wise unfortunately.

Think I have nailed it though.  Budapest, 50p a pint, fit women, sleaze and friendly locals.  £150 with KLM.   Cool

Supposed to be better than Prague, which will be no mean feat.

Cheers chief I'll check that out.

Have to start pitching the idea and rounding up the usual suspects.

May only be August but best to get in early for New Years flights as the price only goes up.

Plus it makes for plenty of time to get everyone to make up their bloody minds and commit.

My first year in Denver was the bestest anticlimax ever ! Hardly knew a soul in the country. Decided to stay up with Mrs NMH to watch in the New Year. All we got was a replay of New Year in New York two hours previously ! Decided that I would wait til midnight then get on t'internet to watch a repeat of London ! Eventually toasted the New Year in with a cup of tea. Stuck my head outside the door to see if everyone in the street would come out to say HNY - nothing ! Total darkness with everyone apparently in bed !
