Damm the doubters, an afternoon on the Severn Valley Steam Railway will cure you of your anti geek stance. Long live the nerds. Keeping our heritage alive, Hornby, Scalextrix, and Steam enthusiat's UNITE

Picked up a tidy little 1993 Matt Neal BMW 3-series BTCC model last year Tongue don't have any track for it to run on, but it's cool.

Still have mine from when I was a kid.Haven't used it in a while, but it may see some action soon and will have to invest in some new cars.....

<Nerd Alert>I take it this event is every year, and are they held in other locations?</Nerd Alert>

<Nerd Alert 2> I used to race RC cars nationally for far too many years, which are also fucking ace, but also fucking expensive</Nerd Alert 2>

Ditto to Nerd Alert 2!  Were you any good?!  I was only a teenager so didn't do nationals, but raced a lot at Aldershot and West London.  When I got to 16-17, getting pissed on a Saturday became more important than racing toy cars on a Sunday, but it was a good laugh.  Scary how seriously some took it mind...

Yep. Did Off and On Road Nationals. Made top twenty once (bit of local track knowledge helped!), but was generally around top 50. Raced regularly at Aldershot and WLRC.
