It is shite, I cancelled my subscription during the Bury game in a fit of anger after the live commentary dropped out for the fourteenth time in a minute.
I had a fit of anger the other night for exactly the same problem......yet again.....

I sent them an email of complaint and I had a reply back saying I had a connection speed problem my end because they'd checked and it was working perfectly, and they gave links to 2 sites to perform a speed test and a ping test. I did the tests and, unfortunately for them, the results, which I forwarded to the Player Customer Services email address, confirmed that my "connection speed is very good. Your connection should work well for any internet application".

They have apologised for their shite service and given me an extra month's subscription free of charge. Whoopeedo. Considering that it is at the end of the season it's useless.....much like the audio commentary on Player.

My peeve about the video highlights is they obviously have some daft cunt sit down and do the 'commentary' who has no fucking interest in the club whatsoever. There have been all sorts of instances of him getting players names wrong, saying them in a weird way you'd never hear any of our supporters say, etc. I remember last season he called Cibo 'Kibokki' in one game.

I do think our service is particularly shite in regards to player, as some of my friends use it for their own clubs and it's a hell of a lot better. Live video, 10-ish minute long highlights for a good game, commentary which doesn't drop out all the fucking time... (trick with that is to click the opposing commentary and then click back. Kind of 'refreshes' the application and lets it realise it's supposed to be fucking working not dozing off)

Have emailed customer services too before, but I highly doubt anything will happen until next seasn at the earliest, if indeed at all. Perhaps contacting the media representative at the club and asking what the fuck is a better idea. If the club threatens to drop the company for another one they might actually pull their finger out.

I don't think they have the rights.

As in the club don't have the rights to drop the company due to contract obligations? Or the club don't have the rights to the highlights, it's all the company doing the 'player' system? Both?

It was more of a moan than an actual 'let's burn down the place!' comment. I'm sure the company involved has got 9000 clauses in their contract making sure they don't have to spend any more money than is actually necessary.

It's the Reds in Foreign Lands I feel sorry for.

As in I think the internet rights and official websites of all football league clubs are sold by the football league en-bloc.  Hence we end up with a wanky site and shit internet coverage and there is not too much the club can do to except complain on your behalf.

I'm glad I live within BBC Wilts coverage.

Well that's a wank system isn't it, and explains everything nicely. Club can't really present themselves as they want to, they just have to deal with the template given to them by the league. Nothing they can do, but FL and presumably the company are rolling around giggling their tits off at all the money they're making.

Will have to ask about that next time I speak to one of the guys in the admin office. Cheers Batch.
