I wasn't there on Tuesday but I can imagine the celebration. And do you know what, he's got every right to celebrate like that. Football is about give and take and yes, he took a lot and gave very little when he wore Red a couple of seasons back.
I can imagine the abuse he would've been getting for the whole game on Tuesday, and if you take that for 90 mins and then pop one in to silence the crowd who've been calling you and you're wife every name under the sun for an hour an a half, you're entitled to cup your ear and take the pi$$.
That's football and people should get over themselves

Actually, apart from a few half hearted boos every time he touched the ball he didn't get the nasty stuff until he scored. Austin got much much more attention from the Town End. Disappointing, Rose deserved it more. |

Nobody gave a shit when Rose left but we were all gutted when Austin left. Austin is a good player, whereas Rose and Prutton are donkeys. I expect Doughlas will get a similar reception to Austin, but that's a compliment to his ability! |

Quite. Never ceases to amaze me how people think it's OK to sing abusive songs about someone's wife then have total apoplexy when the target responds with a cupped ear or a wanker sign. "Oooh, he's really upset my delicate sensibilities, I shall have to lie down in a darkened room for half an hour". Just tighten your corsets and have a whiff of the smelling salts dear, you'll be fine. |
