Looking to go away for a few days in June and looks like we have decided to give Croatia a go.

Tentative plan is to fly to Split, spend some time there, and then go to Hvar Island for a few days.

Question - Is there enough to see and do in Hvar to stay there for a few days? Or is it more of a daytrip type place.

Any other feedback regarding Croatia in general is gratefully received.

Do not miss the Plitvice lakes. The clearest water you'll ever see. And Split, with its lovely Roman ruins, is very relaxed. Of course, all this info is from my pre-war visit so it could all be shot to pieces now.  Smiley

Hvar is fantastic but you'd struggle to find stuff to do for a week. The ferries to the mainland are regular so you'd be able to go back and forth as you please. Make sure you check out Dubrovnik and Korcula's nice as well. Also for the novelty factor you could go to Neum, Bosnia's one and only coastal town.  Girl Giggle

You should go to Bosnia for a few days. Some of the best mountains and lakes in Europe, and without all the tourists.

ok, booked up flights to Zagreb. Plan is to go to the lakes on your advice Red Frog.

Then going to get the night train to Split and end the visit in Dubrovnik. All these places look pretty good and I guess won't be too expensive to eat and drink at!

The Plitvice lakes were stunning. A friend and I went in October and we had the place to ourselves. It might be a bit busy in June. The bus from Zagreb was quick, comfotable and cheap and the driver was happy to tell us where to get off etc.
