I can only guess but it seems he picked one of the few unbuilt up areas, maybe if he'd have ejected things could have been a lot worse. True hero

heard about this from my cousin who lives in ballmouth. Looks like he may have died trying to protect the lives of others.

Grounded until further notice, the cause of the crash needs to be known before they can even contemplate going up again. Display season finishes end of September. Not sure if they'll go back up or not - they are ultra professionals, and red 10 could fill in,  but it must be like losing one of the family the amount of time they spend together.

Where does it say the pilot died?  That article just says the MOD refuse to confirm whether the pilot ejected or even if he's hurt.

The mail must have got lent on for releasing the info before the MOD did. Mind you, they also claimed this is the 7th crash for the Arrows, and the first fatality. Unfortunately not true.

Apparently they've been grounded so expect that will last until the investigation is complete and they've identified what caused the accident.

Was up in Newcastle at the weekend and saw them fly over The Great North Run in the missing man formation for Red 4.
