Was only 9 when I saw Jimmy play. Think the second home home of the season, Notts County rings a bell? When the minutes silence was held and after the whole ground burst into 'Theres only 1 Jimmy Davis' Loudest I can remember, real talent. RIP.

We beat Notts Co. 4/5-0 and Jimmy's parents were at the game. His Mum spoke on the tannoy before the game kicked off and that's what sparked the "one Jimmy Davis" song throughout the first half and into the second.

A great atmosphere generated from a tragedy.

Sad and inspiring at the same time.

did anyone else on here go to the tribute game up at Reddich a year after his passing?
Plenty of town fans went and it was a good day.

He was just a fantastic player for us. The most memerable town loanie during my time of watching anyway. The 6-1 Southend game in the LDV, the Wycombe and the Tranmere game the week after he was immense. I honestly believe if he was still alive he would have gone on and played for Man Utd, I think he was in the same youth side as Darren Fletcher, Chris Eagles etc.
