I've met Norman a few times when he was filming in Windsor, a very very funny man.
Also did all his own stunt work as well, first time I saw him was when I was a young lad I remember the scene when the ambulance was hammering down the roads at Clewer near the riverbank (Windsor) with Norman Wisdom on top wrapped in bandages, it was brilliant and I watched the filming for most of the day.
He was a great man, full of dignity and humour.

One of the greats. RIP Norman. Understandably, a lot of kids will not have heard much about him. But his routines are influencing comedy even today. Two examples I can think of: - The 'Get me Hennimore!' sketches by Mitchell & Webb have got to be a direct parody of Norman Wisdom's roles as a well-meaning and likeable but hapless low-flyer in films such as 'The Early Bird'
- Lee Evans seems to be Norman Wisdom's reincarnation pretty much. Just more ginger.

One of the first films I went to on my own probably aged about 12 was a Norman Wisdom thing, can't remember owt about it. Very early 60's, then Norman's style of physical slapstick fell out of favour here, but not in Tirana.
Watched an old Wisdom film on a wet Friday afternoon a couple of years ago, set in 40's post war London....they haven't worn well.
