That's different though... because Roy Keane went for Haaland!

Douglas didn't 'go' for Roberts.
was keane banned for the challenge? and he never admitted he went for him until after he retired douglas may come out in 10 years and say he meant it

It wasnt even that tackle that ended Haalands career anyway.

It was persistent injury with his other knee.

Douglas meant to break the blokes arm with a sliding tackle, if he did - then thats a very impressive skill!

It reminds me of how we wanted to kill that Grimbsy player when Brezovan fell and broke his arm going up for a cross.

Oh wait..

I was speaking to a number of Hudders players at half time and none of them saw it as a dirty tackle - they said that Roberts had the weight of his body on his arm and that's what took the force of it... From the sounds of it they were giving Roberts version of events having spoken to him

They also liked the pitch which was how the conversation started Smiley

The pitch is brilliant...a credit to you and the club.

Are you the man who keeps the pitch in such superb condition Triseros?  It was a travesty you didn't win the aware last season!

Will mateys arm be fixed in time for the away fixture?

Out for 6 weeks (according to the BBC website). Given the return fixture is in March, I guess so......

6 weeks? You gotta question the BBC/'Udders staff on that. His arm looked completely fucked.

It was in a cast from shoulder to wrist on Saturday evening. There's no way he'll be back in 6 weeks.

Most of the credit has to go to Marcus Cassidy - works with an incredibly small budget compared to most Premier League clubs and yet has a pitch that beats them hands down.

We were all gutted not to get recognised last year but to be honest this years pitch is twice as good and should be there for the award come the end of the season...

If anybody wants to sponsor the Groundstaff our old sponsors have pulled out so names on the back of the coats is up for grabs...

Fair play for that shout out. Marcus is a great lad and does deserve to win the best pitch award this season, along with you and the others, of course!

There are two levels of sponsorship, Groundstaff clothing which basicaly pays for the jackets/tops with sponsors name on the back for 12 groundstaff (circa £100 per groundsman - £1200 total)

The other is sponsorship for equipment which can be negotiated with the club - very favourable rates have been previously agreed for buying the equipment needed for keeping the pitch up together and can include pitchside advertising - if anyone is seriously interested then PM me or Grubby
