My MOT failed last week, as some of you know, the main failures were the breaks so im looking at getting full new set of brakes just to make my life easier. Ive done some searching and found the cheepest to be around 300 quid for the whole shebang.

Does anyone have any recomendations i should check out in swindon, i just need the brakes, i have a guy who will fit them for me.

Car is a pug 306 1.8 XS

Cheers

My brakes fucked a while back and i went on eBay and bought pads and disks for all 4 corners and saved a fortune. Ray's Autos fitted them for me, however, i forget how much the fitting cost me.

Ha, that was my mantra for a while after first having the Megane Coupe and then the Pug 307.

Plumped for a Vectra and have had more problems with that in 6 months than I did with the other two combined in over 2 years!

Whoa, hold on. What exactly was the reason stated on the MoT failure ticket?

Worn pads/shoes or discs/drums are one thing, but there are several other causes like siezed pistons, stuck calipers, contaminated brake fluid (spongy pedal), leaks, corroded brake pipes etc. Don''t go splashing out on something that won't fix the failure unless you are sure.
