I reckon Peterboro sacked him because someone showed them the DVD of the League of Gentlemen and they were worried his antics would bring the club into disrepute http://www.lofg.com/specialstuff/images/thegents/images/cap007.JPG

Ah, apparently Ferguson is being lined up to replaced the Oh-So-Orange one at Hull and that's why Peterborough got rid apparently.
But why they would sack him and not just hold on take the compensation?
Edit: The press conference with MacAnthony and Fry is ace, MacAnthony spends the whole time telling Fry to stop talking.

Looks like the Pox are worried about Wilder going, it does make me chuckle when i see comments on their boards like "Posh would be a bad career move O*ford are a bigger club" the word deluded comes to mind.

I remember thinking at the beginning of September that the only way Oxford were going to fail to go up this was if Wilder was poached. Given his record there, it's a distinct possibility.

To be fair I'd have the scum down as being a bigger club than peterborough.
Not that it matters as peterborough are much better obviously

That Ferguson decision is shocking tbf.He has done a great job and rightly thought he would give the players who took them up a chance.Ok it has not worked that way so they should of let him try and change things come january

Odd appointment. Consistent with their use of non-league resources though.

Odd one, your struggling in the championship and needs some wins desperately, and have the january transfer window coming up, so you appoint a non league manager that have never managed above conference level thus not knowing any players that are likely to be available to strengthen and not knowing how the division works.
Strange decision that could very well back fire...or it could be inspired I suppose
