... banking, not the other one.

If I have a newly opened account, with money available in it, but my card hasn't turned up yet but my chequebook has, can I make a cheque out to cash in the branch (can you still do that?) or do I need my card as well? It be Natwest if it makes any difference.

Take some ID you should be fine, so yes you can still do that.
