Foley was under rated and benefited from playing in attacking teams but oh for a midfielder like him in our team today...
Spot on. He is exactly what we need now. A hard, dirty, obnoxiuos little bastard who doesn't like losing. Ok he was a piss head and liked a scrap away from the football but he was a Scouser. alos knew where the goal was a la his hat trick v Leicester. |

Johnny Moncur for me. Outstanding player - the complete 'midfield general'. I loved the way he could slow a game down, put his foot on the ball, look around, assess his options, light up, smoke a cigar, phone his Mum, play the ball. All in slo mo.
I guess it also helped that he had Linger and Mickey Hazard playing along side him. I loved that midfield.

For me its a toss up between Hoddle, Hazard and Moncur. Just makes you think what a wonderful side to watch that 93 team were.
