I'm just thinking, how many clubs have actually been 'linked' with Cox? Those that I know of that have been spoken about here or on TFF:
Huddersfield Fulham Bolton Aston Villa Sheffield United West Brom Reading Newcastle
Any more? We could get a decent little bidding war going.
From those teams Coxy would only be a definite starter with Huddersfield, and I cant see him leaving us for them. Derby is a good shout though. Leicester have put him top of their purchases for next season, and would put my money on him going there.

I think Coxy needs to be targeting a team in the championship that has the realistic potential of challenging for promotion, otherwise he may as well stay here and bide his time until a better club come's along. Ohh and add Man City to the list of potentials as they was scouting him a few weeks ago

I was at Kettering when we won 7-0 at their place back in 83 but that was an FA Cup game not a league one.

The magnitude of Cox's achievement can be gauged by the fact Harry Morris only ever scored 3 away hat tricks in his career at STFC....he did bag a good few at the CG, mind.
Even scoring one away hat trick is quite rare...plenty have scored them at the CG.
Dennis (Bullets) Brown managed 2, but not in the same season....others who've scored 1 include, Duncan Shearer, Peter Thorne, Kevin Horlock, Dave Mitchell, and Steve White, all of which I was at the game to see.
One of Brown's was a 4, at Bormuff one of my earliest away games, a feat I saw Shearer repeat at Plymuff
Before that famously Alan Mayes on debut..
Notable goalscorers who never managed 1 include, Don Rogers, Sam Parkin, Peter Noble (did once do it in the LC) Jimmy Quinn, Andy Rowland, Arthur Horsfield, Ernie Hunt, David Moss, Paul Rideout and Jan Aage Fjortoft.
Bronco Layne and Jimmy Kelly both scored on late 50's early 60's.
Of those listed Horlock's at Bristol Rovers, is worthy of mention as the only example scored by a midfield player.
I may well have missed something out...I'll leave it to the TEF nerds to do a detailed check.
I'm fairly sure I saw Horsfield score 3 at Ashton Gate in his first season but maybe one was an og that ,these days,a striker would claim

Would Trevor Anderson not be described as a midfield player when he scored his 3 pens-Eastoe and Syrett were the strikers I think

That would have been in the 3-3 draw...from memory Don Rogers skinned them down the wing got in a cross and Dobbin bundled defender, keeper and ball over the line...it was credited as an OG. Think there may be one STFC player who has scored a hat trick at Ashton Gate...can't recall right now who though. No Town player has scored a hat trick at The Manor....Mossy and Horsfield both did it at the CG.

That's the game Reg-Ashton Gate only had three sides to the ground at that time

That must have been waiting for the opening of the Dolman Stand then. Notable for having an indoor bowling green underneath it, as a money earner.

No, i have that game on video somewhere. He got one, Calderwood, Taylor and Hazard got the others. He did get a hat-trick at Watford in 93 when we beat them 4-0. The 3rd was the best, a free-kick which once into the box was almost back-healed to him which he volleyed into the net.

Oh, yes. I was at the Watford game. Dunno why I thought he bagged 3 at Portman Road
