This ok for a cheap messing about taking pictures camera for my mum?

Someone told me it's a good deal. Looks alright to me. Nothing wrong with it?

Not much wrong with that, i had an earlier incarnation that lasted the distance. i.e. trips abroad and to the pub for 4 years.

Looks decent enough at that price.

I bought a Samsung camera for about 70 quid before Xmas. I broke the screen at New Year the first time I took it out.

Never had a problem with canon. Worth looking at online reviews.

Also saw this today(The Kodak EasyShare C913), but have no experience of the camera.

Whilst we are on the topic of Camera..
My camera doesn't zoom out anymore, It's still under guarantee but the only thing is I think I've got sand it in. Will I be able to swap it or send it off if as its still covered?

What have you got to lose?  Contact whoever you need to and explain that the soom is not working!
