Ok I'll keep this simple!

The missus has an ipod. I have downloaded the Itunes software to the pc for it.

Would be of great appreciation if anyone could give me the low down on how I can transfer music from her collection of cd's to the ipod via the pc in simple terms!

Many thanks!

I presume you have i-tunes set up then?

If so, it's as simple as putting the cd's in your computer, then you should get a message up where you save them to i-tunes, and then sync your i-pod.

It is really that simple, i probably haven't explained it the best though.

All you need to do is select the ipod on itunes and on the home ipod page uncheck the sync ipod box, this allows you to manually transfer and delete music to and from the ipod...to tranfer : in itunes media library click and drag onto the ipod.

hope that poor explanation .helps

Put the CD in the drive, iTunes will recognise it and download the track listing. Then click on "import".

Only thing you need to do is to set the quality that it imports at, the higher the better. Deciding what to set it at depends on the quality you want, how much disk space you've got on your computer and how big the iPod is. The higher the setting the more space the CD will occupy. 128AAC will sound fine (and is what standard tracks purchased from the iTunes store are in), 192AAC is better and 256AAC is the best (and is what iTunes Plus tracks are in).

iTunes handles multiple iPods / iPhones automatically. When you first plug it in you enter a name for it and it will then recognise it in future. All the iPod settings are device specific and you set them when it is plugged in, so you can sync different playlists with different iPods.
