It finally comes out friday on PS3

Sony Rock Band Band In The Box on Amazon says PS2 and PS3. So are insturments on the ps2/3 versions the same?

also Will Guitar Hero: World Tour Band be better?

How long can they keep pushing the "press the button when its colour crosses a line on the screen" gameplay? Not that its a very new idea.
