To me it's very black & white. The beating given to the iraquis was wrong end off. I don't resent the compo.
On the other hand the guys fighting on our behalf are all hero's for me. The rights & wrongs of the situation has no bearing what so ever on this either. They should be paid more, (paying those guys less monety than a traffic warden is a disgrace) & given the right equipment. The amount spent on defence is a fraction of the amount spent on spongers & wasters in this country.

That thinks its a bit wrong that the MOD paid £3 million to 8 iraqi families for the torture and abuse of them. I dont undrstand how they can get so much when our troops go out to fight, lose a a limb or whatever and there compensation is capped at a crap amount?

Sorry but those Iraqi's deserve the money.

Which gets yo the point janaage, if the insurance companies wont take care of these guys then surely it's up to the government.

Any MOD employee who is rated on a life policy, which is normally those with 'front line' duties i.e. infantry, naval officer, pilot, crewman etc. can claim the amount of the rated premium back from the MOD so in effect they are just paying the standard premium.

The thing is Phil i sort of understand your point, but what happened to this guy was fukin shocking...he wasnt a fighter or even in the army.....he was just doing a job,he wouldve got a bullet in the head from his own people if he had objected.Ninety Two diferent injuries is something that happens in the heat of battle....if this had been a british soldier we would be raging, this man was a civilian, sometimes weve got to accept that our forces are not all angels....and for once to there credit the MOD have done it.

Meh, I was nearly right.

Anyway, it's only acting/serving personnel that would be rated anyway, unless your desk is 100oft in the air of something.
