1952!!..as a collector of progs and bits and pieces i have a copy of the accounts in my possesion and what good reading they make!  I cant print it all but have put in a few interesting facts on the incomings and outgoings....
Moneys in as follows

Catering Rights £75
Programme Profit £794
Share of F,A Cup pool £1000
Wiltshire Shield £59
Div 3 South Match income £21,766
Reserve Income £1,953
Friendlies £14
Season Tickets £1614
F.A Cup Income £3,846
Supporters Club Donation £206
Receipts From Away Matches £3,146

The entry i like best is £250 for the sale of 354 Ferndale Road!

Some outgoings

Postage and Telegrams £200
Players Away Match Expenses £204
Directors Expenses £84
Repairs To County Ground £854
Rent And Rates £812
Players Wages £12,649
Kit And Laundry £847

And an entry that seems a bit steep is £377 forBank charges!...no change there then.Apologies for the jumbled way ive written it out and this is just the tip of the iceberg,it makes good reading and is a real blast from the past...all in all the club made a profit off just over £4,000 mainly as a result of a good cup run in the 1955 season.

Is there anyway you could get them scanned in? I love stuff like that.

£250 for the sale of 354 Ferndale Road, nice, puts the other expenses into perspective a bit. I was under the impression that the club used to own a fair bit of random property about the town, didn't think they sold much of it off until a bit later though? You oldies are good at queries like this.

If you email me an address Ben will send it for you to look at.....the club had a few properties and still think they have a house in Shrivvy Road for the youths but i may be wrong.

Do you live about Swindon? I was going to suggest you pop around mine one afternoon, I can offer you a cup of tea and a bacon sandwich whilst I scan it in. It's not a desperate matter either way. Could always sort out a hand over in a pub before a pre-season friendly if we're both about.

I don't trust my postman much. He's managed to lose a couple of things that my sister has sent me.

Very interesting Leefer. I love stuff like this.

As a man who likes figures, it is interesting for me to see that back in this particular season the FA cup provided more income than season ticket sales. I guess season ticket arrangements were different in those days?

Is that Ben's second TEF-date rejection?
