My first speedway meeting was when I was 3 months old. I don't remember it too well, but it was enough to keep me going back for 18 or so years. It started to get too costly though for the amount of 'entertainment' you got. Oh, and Swindon were generally shit then (sound familiar?). I remember the days of Barry Briggs, Bob Kilby, Mad Wellie (Malcolm Holloway for those in the know - Fred might know him being a Stratton lad), Phil Crump, Martin Ashby - I could waffle on for hours......but I won't.
I went again about 5 years ago, met up with a few people I knew from back in the day and had a good laugh. I think it was just before Swindon went back into the Premier League

Steen Mastrup was always my favourite. The guy had so much potential but had a tendency to have horrific crashes and sustain bad injuries everytime he reached the top of his game !

Iv'e been to teh speedway many a time.
It's a great spectator sport and the noise and smell adds to it all.
The crowds not being segregated also adds to the fun cos' their is often some fan of the other team who gets into a bit of a strop.

You wanna get down and see Leigh Adams now. He is pure class, and nigh on unbeatable in this watered-down "Elite" League that they have this season.

Lived outside of Denver so didnt go out there much, but would suggest Wynkoop Brewery http://denver.mixliving.com/restaurants/details.asp?PlaceID=10061 if you are downtown. ' Local beers that aint bad are 'Avalanche' and 'Fat Tire'. Both are 'dark beers'. I also like 'Shiner Bock' which was a Texan beer. Be careful with the altitude and lack of moisture though. I used to get terrible hangovers on a minimal amout of booze over there. Secret for me was to have a bottle of water after every couple of beers. Enjoy! NMH

I never stopped in Denver itself (unless a stop over in the airport counts), but one you MUST try is Breckenridge Brewery's Small Batch 472 IPA. Expensive, but at 9.2% a bottle, you really don't need that many.....its a local Denver brew.
