No it can't be a coincidence! The FA have clearly recruited 6 new members of staff specifically to police the activities of STFC. It's clearly a conspiracy..........

They'd need more than 6 - more like an entire department  Yes

Might it be worth trying to notify the FA about goings on at the CG?   Whistleblowing or grassing?

Surely acting now may mean the mystery investors will think again and do a runner...leaving the FC to pick up the pieces.

Allowing the situation to become a reality, will it seems lead to conflict with the authorities.

   Trust Board.....what do you think?

New regulations don't matter in our case as the regulations which explicitly prohibit agents owning or having a financial interest in a football club are already in place. These new regs are about agents playing both ends of a deal etc

i'd rather the FL insisted on clubs publishing timely financial accounts and accountable fans representation on club boards

Some provision has been made within the new rules through 'registration rights', which is a blanket prohibition on agents owning an interest, either directly or indirectly, in the registration rights of a player

Surely something like this has got to be an attempt at outlawing what seems to be the likely case at STFC....namely that agents will profit directly or indirectly through registration rights at STFC.

Even if things seem to be covered by the established regs,  wouldn't this be a good time to flag up events at our club?

The point I was making Reg is that if we are indeed looking at a situation where the people behind Best Holdings are indeed agents, the new regs are wholly irrelevant, as that situation is already covered by 14.25 of the Football Agent's regulations. The new regs are plugging the loophole where the agent does not own an interest in the club, as if the agent owns an interest in the club (which owns the registration rights) he/she already controls or can influence the registration rights via the club. Hence Article 14.25.

Fair enough I see that point, but given what seems a new interest in the issue from the FA with 6 staff to police matters, mightn't it be a good time to ask them to conduct an enquiry into our club?

Personally I'd be extremely reluctant to ask any of the football authorities to conduct an actual inquiry into our club given the past history of the way they've dealt with such matters. They have an unfortunate habit of punishing the club while the guilty individuals go scot-free.
