Quick question. Anybody done an Online Degree, or similar kind of study? I'm looking to broaden my skills base, but don't really want to be tied down to full time study or day release if possible. BTW, I'm an old fart who hasn't studied anything for >15 years...

Thoughts & experiences, good or bad?

Bugger, I meant to add something that is not OU in the original post. My bad.

It seems quite popular this side of the pond, although some aspects get a bad press. Just wondered if the concept had reached the UK yet...

I looked into OU studying once but the choice of courses was terrible.  Luckily I then got a job within our company and was able to study for the CII exams relevant to my job.

was looking into this today, like you say OU is pretty limited. learndirect do a load of stuff but most of it is pretty basic, but unis have started online-only courses which are just as full on and reputable as normal ones, check out liverpool uni who are the pioneers i believe.

I'm an Electronics Engineer and I was hoping to supplement it with some form of Business degree. OU isn't for me, as the subject choice is very limited and its not the most recognised form of qualification.

Seem to recall Bath Uni online MBA being highly regarded.
