The shop Urbanoutfitters is an ace retro shop.

Birmingham isn't half as bad as people think - having lived there for 4 years and moving back soon it's great.  Some areas are absolute no go areas, the same as any big city, but there are plenty of nice areas to live and good nightlife (especially if you avaoid Broad St, which is pikey central).  I personally hate the bullring as it ahs wrecked a lot of my favourite shops but it's certainly done wonders for the city centre as a whole.
