Indeed. But I did manage 4 years of uni.
Anyway...
Serious advice now...
Honest...
Don't worry about it. You're too young to get a place of your own, so I guess you're living with your parents. Your financial worries should be pretty minimum. Do A-Levels. If your GSCE's aren't very good then do A-levels with Maths/English retakes. Better still, sign up for any vocational courses there are to grab, don't worry if it's what you want to do, learning any skill is good. Whilst doing this get a part time job at Tesco's / Asda / Sainsbury's, wherever. Earn enough money so that you can take the girls you meet at college out for a drink, or just going out for a drink with your new mates. It's all good.
I'm guessing you're 16. Seriously, you're too young to be worrying about stuff like jobs. Educate your self as much as you can, be it vocational or academic. But most of all have a laugh doing it. At your age college is the best place to meet girls. FACT!!

Yea i'm 16. I was an absolute dick in my last few years of school. I'll honestly be lucky to get a couple of C's because it's all joined in with coursework and I did hardly any. Thats why I just wanted to get an apprenticeship in Bricklaying and now i'm thinking about plumbing I can go to college and learn what I need to know about the job i'm doing aswell as getting paid for working. So if anyone knows any companys around Swindon as close to Melksham as possible that will take on an apprentice, let me know.

I wouldn't rely on getting an apprenticeship. If you can't then it's still worth doing some sort of vocational qualification. Don't worry about GCSE's, a lot of them will let you on if you can at least sound literate on the phone or even in an interview.
You should look about and see what courses are on offer. Anything that interests you. Swindon College has about a billion, and they'll be free for you at your age. Take advantage. Even if they say that they won't accept you without a C in certain GCSE's, if you take the initiative and do a bit of begging you'll get in.
You've become my project now, don't get stuck in a life of a shitty checkout job. Do it part-time for some pub cash, but make yourself some options. If you have to do a Maths/English exam for any course you want to get on, then I'll help you out with on-line tutorialage if I can. As I'm sure the rest of the TEF will as well.

Hello tomorrow people, does anybody else have something to add to the advice I've given young STFC4LIFE? He seems like a nice kid and I'd hate to see him limit his options.

I'd echo what you said. Spend 2-3 years at college doing A-levels and such like. It's a good laugh, and buys you time to decide what you want/don't want to do, whilst opening a few more avenues.

I did have a company for my apprenticeship but they're being investigated by the Inland Revenue so they couldn't take me on. Not sure what to do now..... You had a possible apprenticeship at the County Ground (not the pub before anybody starts jumping up and down!)??

You could do worse than this for a year, get a trade, earn yourself £5.5k over 38 weeks, enhance your education and then decide what you want to do. www.army.mod.uk/atra/aac/index.htm
