I have a bash at it most days with varying success. today's is a git though. (for me)

I might complete it once a week but generally get within a handful of clues - dependent on how much time I have available.

I can do cryptic crosswords.....although don't do them now due to time constraints.

All compilers are a bit different although there are certain rules which are universal.   I'm probably a bit rusty.

I worked out how to do them when I was stuck in some Allah forsaken railway junction in North Africa....with a day to wait, and nothing but an old copy of the Times available....so I thought I'd try the crossword.....somehow it fell into place.

Yeah there is a different compiler each day in the Telegraph, you get used to their habits...

Finished yesterdays and have managed about half of todays...

Neville - Have you got 1,11,12,or 25 across?

I'll trade you some answers!

i don't usually get a paper, but I do have a booklet of telegraph ones that I do when i'm on the plane or what have you - can usually get about half of them before i have to resort to thesaurus and internet anagram solvers !

Go on, give us one...

hmm, not sure... no sure fire ideas at the moment, but

tablet ? which can mean a book and they could be getting at taking a tablet to conclude strong feelings etc.  Or if you aren't sure about the T it could be epilog, which concludes a book although don't see how that fits in with rest of the clue. shouldn't have talked myself up !

actually, think i have got it now its the other way round, not a book - ZEALOT: = fanatic; strongfeeling = zeal; concludes with book = OT for Old Testament I'm guessing.  i'm betting no other clue crosses the first letter in the grid either...
