Who said anything about the future. Without him, we'd have not been in a position to go forward!! Brentford (Away) anyone? I for one thought we'd bit the bullet. Bejesus - I'm all for Bill Power and co. but some people have very, very short memories.

How can we go from talking statues one minute to full-on slating him the next!?!

As for missing games this year, someone is clearly stalking the wrong person.

While there can be no doubt his money saved us, it could be argued that he has had serious influence (or been a position to have it) for a long time, and as such must share some of the blame for us getting into that situation (on more than one occasion). Hasn't he been major shareholder for just over a decade now?

FWIW, having spoken to him I don't doubt his love for STFC, I just think he makes very poor decisions or doesn't make them at all.

That's alright - you are entitled to question my attendance, views and integrity... sexuality, religeon... whenever you want. I've not cared about this club for any of the 20-odd seasons I've been following them  Wink

Pauld - spot on. It would be great to think there is a way this club can progress under Bill's leadership AND with SSW as part of the team.

I've never met him myself, so can't pass comment.
As has ben said, one does need to question some of his decisions in the past though. Not least his choice of advisor.
Is all of his money inherited wealth ? this maybe explains some things. Their is a world of difference between someone who has made it himself & someone who has had it given to him on a plate. BTW I took an instant dislike to his hooray henry type son at the fans forum who did nothing but sneered at the fans.

I think the press releases he and his son made last year alienated some fans.

Precisely.

"To conclude, my father and I are distraught by the prevailing attitudes towards us and the current Board of STFC, and it leaves us no option but to seriously consider our future involvement at the club."

All of his money came from his wife, who's name HE took. She's now divorced him AFAIK.

Indeed it is.

He is an hereditary peer and the money is his family's from the Wills tobacco business (although that was sold off in the 90's).

I didn't know Seatons Mrs had divorced him. When did that happen?

His real name is Dave Wills. Seaton is his middle name. Dave Wills. Makes him sound ordinary Wink
