I think it's probably a common misconception that teams always do well in the game after the have sacked their manager but I think it just gets highlighted when it happens. It's the same as the so called manager of the month 'curse'. It just gets brought to everyone's attention when it happens but nothing gets said when the team win, just as we did when diddy Dennis won it for August.

Does anyone know how we have done in our first game after our last few managers were sacked? I'm f****d if I do.

I think our first game after King going was a 0-1 defeat at Doncaster wasn't it? That's all I can remember though.

It's bizarre to sack them so late in the week.

we lost 1-0 to lincoln after wise left
as you said we lost 1-0 to donny after king was sacked.

i think mcmahon was the last manager we sacked during a season and we drew 0-0 away at tranmere in the following match.

the game after evans walked was a 3-1 loss away at notts county

Not good.

Curbishley won on his first day at West Ham vs Man United.

Some caretaker managers have amazing luck in their first game.

Wise won 7 on the go....

Neither of those were caretaker managers though were they?
