getting rather annoyed now.
I have just purchased a new external hard drive and case.
I have connected them all up and plugged them in. On the instructions it says it should automaticly give itself a drive letter.
but it doesn't.
So i though it needs formatting but i can't seem to do this.
I have tryed running fdisk and it wont let me. says it can't find it.
i need help as it's really annoying me

http://www.maxtor.com/portal/site/Maxtor/menuitem.3c67e325e0a6b1f6294198b091346068/?channelpath=/en_us/Support/Software%20Downloads/ATA%20Hard%20Drives&downloadID=11

download and install that, normally if the drive is to big its not recognized in windows, this should stop that

Q. How many microsoft programmers does it take to write reliable software?

A. Don't know, it's never been done.
