Anyone know of any good bit torrent or P2P sites?  My Bit Torrent is about as fast as the Brazilian Ronaldo during a World Cup match.  I also have Limewire and Ares, but can't seem to find the tunes on there that i'm looking for.

Are you behind a router? if you are then you have to forward ports on your router to your computer to get top torrent download speeds (there are loads of faqs about it on the net).

Which torrent client are you using. From memory you can't go wront with the big 3... bit commet, azureus or utorrent (although the u is actually one of those greek symboly things).

Check the amount of people seeding the torrent of the thing  you are trying to download. If it's zero then you aren't gonna have a lot of luck. If only 1 or 2 people are seeding then it may mean slow download speeds. This can make rare stiff a bit of a pain with bittorrent.

http://www.mininova.org and http://www.torrentspy.com are both pretty good sites for torrents.

Not got much experience with limewire or ares. Did use emule a while back which used to be ok for rarer stuff.

For general p2p stuff then http://www.zeropaid.com/ used to have a fair bit of info, ain't been there for a while though.

Oh and don't turn off uploading with torrents. Your speeds will go to shit if you do.

www.slyck.com

I use them; as they have a list of about 25 different sites to use.

I Use Bitlord; works fine for me generally.

Netgear voyager? I think you mean BT voyager!

I have the model down from that one if it is indeed the BT. Use the website that magic posted the link to, that will explain it all

yeah that's shit. you've set the ports to the right ip address and then set that port on your router yeah? some ISP's slow connections to certain ports which are commonly used for p2p so it might be worth sticking a 1 infront of the port number on all your settings (router and whatever p2p thing you're using).

Apart from that I can't think of much, unless you're just downloading stuff which is rare. And as I said before don't limit the upload speed to much because the torrent will go faster the more of that file you've uploaded.

It does take a while for the speeds to increase (it won't always start off quick).

Sometimes you still get files that have 5 seeders for every 1 downloader, but stil slow speeds because they have limited or are using up their own bandwidth
