Bob Holt or mike sullivan said soemthing like 'weve brought him here etc after a years hard work' well ive just been on the civentry website and hes playing there too.  I suspect his PR company approcahed the club and arranged it all.  It seems hes doinga  few stadiums this summer, is this another publicity stunt by the board saying they did this and that too make themselves look good. Pathetic

It wouldn't surprise me. They don't strike me as an intelligent bunch, and when it comes to money making/saving, they seem to be short on ideas.

It does make a difference though.  If STFC management had approached Elton John's managment that would show they are proactive and using their initiative.  I think Mr Blackcurrant is 100% right though.  They are not very bright and I am sure it was they who were approached by Elton's lot. I think the people running our club on a day to day basis (so please note, that does NOT include Mr Wills) are a disgrace.  Furthermore, I do not think we will make that much money out of this concert.  Sorry.

I don't think anybody has any idea how much money is being made for the club, but the club are running the hospitality packages at a huge price so there's gonna be a decent amount coming from that.

The opportunity is certainly there to make a fair bit.  Have our Directors got what it take though?  I think not.

totally agree with you on that. the board are trying to make out like its all thier idea & they have worked really hard when in actual fact elton john's people have probably asked if swindon would be interested  in staging a concert & we bit their hands off. its the marshall arts company who are organising it, not stfc. our board couldnt organise a piss up in a brewery

he is doing loads of stadiums all over UK, see more here...

but in all fairness its still good for us, whoever the organiser!

We will probably be the only club to not get a licence thanks to the NIMBY's.  Either that or we will be the only club to actually not make any money out of the concert.

Not that I'm cynical or owt!
