Post by: walrus on Sunday, October 16, 2005, 11:35:41
Whom is thinking of going?  I'll go if I can lift share as a petrol cost of around £40 puts me off just a touch!  185 miles from where I am, a touch further from Swindon I should imagine.  I assume everyone, no matter where you're travelling from (well Swindon, SCR, Kent etc.) has to hit the '25 and then up to junc. 21 for the M1?  Anyone up for meeting at a Service Station and splitting the petrol costs?  I don't mind driving particularly - don't let DV's review of my driving put you off!   :|

(Bear in mind there's no game for 2 weeks after, so you may suffer withdrawal symptoms if you miss this one!)

I'm well up for it but would need a lift.

Be happy to pay my way.

I do Dan!  If you can get a lift to the first set of services on the M1 (no idea what they're called but I'm sure they're not far up) I'd be happy to drive, although if you're over 6 ft it could get a bit cramped in the back!

I see no reason why I won't be there, but that helps none of you really I suppose.

We really need some sort of revenge for last season - Rory will be bang up for it too.  A possible shock on the cards...

For Swindon folk they won't go to the M25.

Best way from Swindon is up the M5 to Brum, M42/A42 up to M1.

I'm thinking about going.

Asher, your going east for no reason going that way from Swindon.

Better to go up M5 to Brum, then M42/A42 upto the M1.

That's the way I travel from Leeds to Swindon and having tried every route over the last 4 years - that's the best at the moment...

A419/417 - M5 - M42/A42 - M1 - (Junction 38 ) A637/A642 to Huddersfield (cross-country)

yea the quickest way is defo up the m5, m42, m1 way, roughly the same mileage wise, but if you get caught behind a truck on the a320, and with all the roundabouts too, it takes a lil extra time at 3am, so cant imagine what it'd b like in the daytime!

Possible - I'm very tempted Adje!  I will see how my finances are after the weekend.  Seems a bit rude not to, what with Swindon not playing for another 2 weeks afterwards...
