Title: Official Social Media
Post by: Mooneyraker on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, 11:34:15
A bit of a dull topic but it does come up!

I see that we have a new guy: https://twitter.com/henry_port98

Any idea why Dave Wrixton left? I felt he did a good job on socials.

I think our social media job is a bit like Defence Against the Dark Arts at Hogwarts or drumming in Spinal Tap, they never seem to last more than 12 months.

With our ''loony'' fanbase I'm nit surprised people never last that long.....

Think he was the other peoples guy tbh. Seemed ok to me but was hard work at times by all accounts

Agreed really good features.

Whilst I haven't been to the cg this season I see at 2.30 a lot hasn't changed. "Get it fucking forwards"

He seemed to upset a few people by asking for volunteers on social media. Think the new guy is great and seems to have some good contacts at Uni of Gloucestershire to help with all the videoing.

Think he's a graduate of said uni. Getting current students onsite to do work that they can use for their own courses and portfolios is far more appropriate than the previous approach of expecting someone with the expertise and equipment of a professional to simply volunteer their services for free.

I'm not sure if it belongs here or in another thread, but i'm bored of the Kemp and Young love in already. The fact they're loan players and the spine of our team speaks volumes about how badly this season is going, but still, i think the amount of content on various SM's is pretty poor

Agree. They’re gone. Good luck to them both and if they return against us I hope they get a great reception.

Are we still allowed to call Eddie Howe one of our own then?

It is over the top but see most teams do it now. Sheffield Wednesday bought their departing player on the pitch at half time the other day to wave goodbye

You’d have thought someone died the way they went on last night.

I was wondering what their reaction to being taken in by Clems bullshit was going to be, didn't think it would be that.

Sounds like they've had enough like the rest of us.

They admitted their most recent PR drive and cryptic drivel re. January was at the club’s request, I think the quote last night was ‘they asked us to spread some positivity’.

Nothing against individuals, they are over enthusiastic fans at the end of the day, but they were well and truly used by the club and became a laughing stock in the process so I don’t blame them calling it a day.

I wonder if they spread the good word and have since found out that it may not all be correct

Which is precisely the MO far the past two and half years.  Power at least had disdain for the fanbase and his fellow "investors".

As time goes on and you see the shambles of the Morfuni era, one comes to realise how effective Power was at executing his dastardly plans.

Clearly they were never an official supporters organisation in the way the OSC or Trust are, but in my eyes this group were the worst at being pro clem with no sense of perspective. Sad for the guys to lose the passion to do it, though it was never my cup of tea.

Not much left of the Morfuni propaganda machine now which just shows how bad things are getting.

Rich from the LSPOD hinted on here at some shadowy PR guru in the background, pulling the strings. Not sure if we ever got to the bottom of who that was.

Guru? do you mean an intern at STFC or someone in the trust volunteering?

I have a feeling that this may be one of our sponsors if it is who I think it is

If it’s who I think it is they have a lot more influence at the club than most of the shady characters hanging around.

And no, I’m not going to name them on an open forum

Oh this is a fun game playing guess who. We are probably all thinking about different people.

The Verelogic chap was very helpful to them. He was a pal of Rob Angus and thus got a lot of great access.

The 606 format on Spaces was a very good idea. Like all things like this, the plan evolves. LSPOD had to evolve because it got harder to get players on etc.

This shite is much more enjoyable when Swindon Town are good and I'm sure finding the balance is tough if you're trying to appease the club and also provide your honest opinions.

Good luck to them.

They've been involved since 2012 - a quick search shows they were thinking of pulling out towards the end of Power's tenure but then signed up again when the sale went through.

I don’t think said person discussed above is involved in any official capacity any more which speaks volumes - he was an ardent Morfuni loyalist and they’ve even manage to push him away!
