Title: VPN
Post by: singingiiiffy on Saturday, August 7, 2021, 10:49:57
Could anyone be kind enough to explain in layman terms how to set something like this up. I don't know where to start and would desperately love to watch something this afternoon in 3 hours time

You download a VPN, you install VPN onto your PC/lappy/mobile, you run VPN to put yourself into a country that you decide, you open the browser and youa re browsing in that country to all intents and purposes.

But be aware, iFollow has blocked many VPN's.

You did fail to mention - PAY for VPN!

I use Surf Shark for most things but have to turn it off for iFollow

There are still some half decent free VPN's and some browsers come with it standard too.

You won't know until 2pm mate when the stream goes live, try after then and maybe you can watch it.

I went through the EFL list of suppliers across Europe. By a roundabout way, via Express VPN, the Town website thinks I’m in Switzerland!  😁😁😁

Signed up for NordVPN (Thanks arriba for the heads up), for a 2 year subscription for £2.79 a month (£73 in total) including 3 free months, plus 55% cashback from Topcashback.
I've managed to get iFollow working fine and i'm a fucking idiot.

Just wondering, any of you lot use IPTV? I pay about £60 for a whole year. Literally every game is covered on ifollow, so even when we are not playing I can watch the next opposition or whichever game appeals. Its got Disney, SKY, BT etc all included. No firestick, just an app on telly and phone. I use a VPN as my ISP blocked it last season, but its easy to set up. Just seems stupid paying for each game when you can watch them all, home and away (I go, so it costs the club zero in lost revenue)
JRT

Yeah use an Iptv, have sureshark vpn tho rarely have to use it for ifollow. Away games only as no substitute for being at a game.

I've had IPTV previously. Eventually they go tits up. Even the most reliable ones. I was with a great one for nearly 3 years which worked almost flawlessly during that time. Then boom, one day, gone. I don't bother anymore. Now TV does for me.

Well you're all lucky chaps. I'm about the only one with a valid iFollow account, and despite emailing me in June to say my sub would automatically renew on 1st July, when I tried to log in yesterday it tells me to buy a season pass, so I missed the whole effin game and can't even watch it back until they pull their fingers out.

iFollow still being iFollow.  ::)  :crash:

I had the same but had no intention of renewing until The Slug left.

Coughed up €166 for a new one. Great value, really. 46 games @ €3.60 per game.

Sure, but I didn't cancel and since they said it would automatically renew, it should have done. If I sign up for a new pass now, they're only going to deduct me twice, aren't they. I have history with these dribbling incompetents.

Well. I got a reply straight away to my email - on a Sunday evening! - and while they don't know why it didn't autorenew, the response time was pretty impressive. Time to catch up on what I missed.  :beers:

I am going to join the IPTV revolution via a mate who has had it in Luxembourg for sometime. Partially as I want to watch the Gaelic football on Irish tv, and might watch the occasional Prem match, for £50 a year seems like a no-brainer.

My question is re the Swindon games on Ifollow. Can I still subscribe to the Swindon games and pay as if I am abroad (I don't mind doing this as the income goes to the club) or do they get 'streamed' for nothing.

You still have to pay for a stream if you vpn it through the app.

My iptv actually has an ‘ifollow’ channel which broadcasts some, but not all, games.

Cheers. My mate in Lux is a Peterborough fan and said the same last season, I think he paid for the Season ticket but a lot of the games he could have actually got for nada through that channel. Aware it's probably not to be reliant on as Ifollow are attempting to crack down on people watching the games this way.

Depends if your IPTV provider does the Ifollow Swindon matches. Not all do and it can be hit or miss if it works. You'll still be able to subscribe to Ifollow. IPTV just share streams illegally.

Hmmm, still says £10 after I disconnect.

Title: Re: VPN

Not always, sometimes it takes your money as the VPN tells them you are "abroad" but then the VPN Ip addresses are banned making your purchase pointless.

I have a season ticket so not sure if its still £7 per game abroad or not, but if it thinks you are abroad then surely you would get the abroad price?

I’ve bought ExpressVPN £10 a month, set myself to Germany and it’s working a dream. Used it for the Scunthorpe game too, and had no dropouts the whole game!
