Title: Mobile phone camera resolution problem
Post by: 4D on Tuesday, April 13, 2021, 12:00:23
The missus has a Huawei P30 Lite, and we cannot seem to set it up so the photos fill the whole screen. Turn the phone to landscape and the pic only fills 2/3 of the screen. It's annoying, whichever resolution we choose it doesn't seem to work. Any ideas?

Go into the camera settings (in camera) fella and instead of selecting resolution (that won't change the screen size, that's more quality on image based), you want to select "Aspect Ratio". It's probably on 1:1 at present which will be a "square", or 4:3 which is like the standard older TV size. You should see the obvious option of "Full Screen". Select that :)

Buy me a pint if you ever see me  :pint:

There's no aspect ratio option   :)

You looking in the right place?  ;)

Take a look at this, my phone is P30 Pro but the layout should be incredibly similar.

At the very top btw :) Oh and make sure you are on "Photo" instead of "Video" before going into the in camera settings as that may change the menu slightly (shouldn't but may).

No, it looks completely different. I seemed to have fixed it, the problem may have been the gallery  :D

No probs,

Having said I think my model has updated to the newer EMUI OS so maybe your mrs' is due to be rolled out to the Lite shortly?  :hmmm:

Glad you got it sorted anyway :)
