Title: Electric bike
Post by: The Artist Formerly Known as Audrey on Sunday, February 28, 2021, 14:51:52
Me and Mrs Audrey are after getting a couple of said bikes. After my knee replacement I can just about pedal but would need the motor in case I get stuck. Looking at c £1000 or so.

Any recommendations?

If you want something a little more traditional and in keeping with your Swindon roots.

In all seriousness this has been discussed before and there is someone on here (sorry cannot remember who) who knows a fair bit about E bikes.

Zero do proper electric bikes.

The SRF will do 0-60 in 3 seconds.

Sorted it this morning. And the best bit is the Greek government give 40% discount for electric bikes so bought 2 for €750 each.

Must be some sort of EU directive.

Maybe give a review after you used them for a month as I'm intrigued what they are like up hills etc and whether you get 30-40 miles out of a full charge.

We’re getting a Devron 28161. Apparently with a range of 110k - but that’s under certain conditions so will certainly be less.

It’s the hill bit that I’m slightly concerned about as it’s a 250W bike which I’m not sure is powerful enough. We’ve got a no obligation demo arranged so we may end up with a higher wattage motor.

As it stands the full cost is €1250 (less the 40% discount).

Cheers for the update as like many I know nothing about them so I will follow your post with interest.
Happy cycling😀

Make sure you can get spares (especially batteries) for it, many an E bike is rendered useless when the batteries pack up as you cannot get replacements in some cases.
